Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Second Season Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the adult animated musical series Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform soon, and fan speculation has been intense.

Season 1 presents a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, pits them against each other accompanied by musical numbers detailing their conflicts, and establishes heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 differ greatly, but certain threads recur frequently: Will a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the mysterious "deal" constraining the enigmatic Alastor? Might certain characters' relationships evolve?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with fan service as the main goal," the creator commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show implies there's a lot of it just naturally. I also am eager for these things, and I hope some of these things to happen, and obviously some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for five seasons of Hazbin Hotel. Seasons 3 and 4 have already been green-lit by Prime Video and A24, which finance the series.

That could imply viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they could be shocked at how fast season 2 progresses, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to be highly satisfied," she adds. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about season 2 — particularly in the form of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people make a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've already completed a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that leads me to believe we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel the second season launches on Prime Video on Oct. 29.
